In my last blog end of august some weird things happened to me.
This wasn´t really easy for me.
I spent all of september trying to get over it.
But my body and mind needed a break and it was really needed. I had some visitors over and enjoyed sightseeing with them throughout Barcelona. Had a lot of fun! And got tattoo no. 2! The Blackbird ;)
Next thing I did was, I ordered myself some vacation. I took the opportunity to go and see my family in the United States. A whole month! ;)
On october 12th I started my journey to Dallas, Texas and I spent the first couple of days in McKinney.I went to dancing lessons, to Dallas to JFK-Memorial and shopping of course. ;) That was fun!
On the weekend I moved on to Van Alstyne, Texas for some Family-reunion. We went to an "Occupy Wall-Street" concert in Sherman on Saturday and on Sunday everybody came over to have lunch together and to meet again. It was a lot of fun, and this time I got to see some of them that I didn´t have the chance to get to meet last time or which weren´t part of the family yet last year.
On Monday I went back to McKinney where I enjoyed some nights of Tango, good food and played music.
On Thursday I went on to Sulphur, Oklahoma. There I spent the next couple of days with Sightseeing, putting Puzzles together and playing Wahoo.
When I had been there last time, everything was flooded because of a lot of heavy rains, this year was the extreme opposite: Many days without rain and a lot of days of 100°F and more everyday so that everything was dried-out. All the lakes, Little Niagara, even Turner Falls (Oklahoma´s tallest waterfalls, seemed to be more a small brook than waterfalls) all dry.
On Sunday we went to Norman, Oklahoma to shop and to go to the cinema (the remake of Footloose, not bad at all!).
Later on our trip to Holy City (in Lawton, Oklahoma) we could also see what the fire did to the forests in that hot/dry period.
On Thursday we then went on our Roadtrip. Crossing several states.
Oklahoma - Texas - Lousiana - Mississippi - Alabama.
A 16 hour drive, splitted on 2 days (once with a stop in Mississippi on our way to Alabama and another stop in Louisiana on the way back to Oklahoma).
In Alabama we went to see my Cousin Russell. He showed us his workplace and in the evening we went bowling (yes there is a video of me of it on Facebook, dammit... hahaha how I love to make fun of myself ;) .. )
The next day we went the additional 75 miles to go into Florida. Panama City Beach Florida, nice!!! At night we went to Russell´s favourite club in Dothan, Alabama to attend a Halloween Party. They even did a show, an interpretation of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. A lot of fun!
Early the next morning we had to leave already back towards Oklahoma, passing Cottonfields and crossing Mississippi river at sunset. A really cool trip. Exhausting, but worth it! Without my Monster-Energy drinks and the Oatmeal-Raisin Cookies I wouldn´t have been able to make it! Haha!
Back in Oklahoma we had to rest and then relax again... On Saturday Shon picked me up to go and have breakfast with her, her two little boys and her Mom at ihop (I love their Blueberrypancakes...!). After that we went shopping (yes I am a shop-a-holic, so what...) Then her Mom and the boys left to spent some time together and Shon and I went down to McKinney. To drop my stuff off, to have a rest and get directions, because then we went off to Dallas to see Guns 'n' Roses play live! What a cool day!
(All pictures are up on my Facebook-page!)
On sunday I have been invited to a Barbecue and in the evening, I started my packing-marathon.
Monday I had to leave again. In the morning I packed all over again and then I packed a new bag and then it was already time to leave for Dallas Fort Worth Airport. After 9,5 hours of flight I arrived at Frankfurt airport and had to wait for my other flight.Coincidently I got to see and old friend from school there while I was waiting. Really cool!
3 hours later I could go on to Barcelona.
When I got home the first thing to do was, washing clothes, opening the windows, clean up a little and relax. (Unfortunately I still have problems finding back to spanish time... Jetlag sucks!)
Then I started my job-application-marathon. We´ll see what there is on the market... but I think one thing is already clear... the Barcelona adventure is coming to an end... We´ll see what the future brings and where the destiny will take me next.
I´ll keep you updated!
Talk to you later!
Adeu!
